Kilchuimen Academy is a small secondary school situated in Fort Augustus at the south end of Loch Ness next to the Caledonian Canal. There has been a school in the village for over 100 years, and we are now in our third building (built 1968). It has been a full six year secondary since 1989.

Fort Augustus is a small village located in the highlands of Scotland in the middle of the Great Glen. It is situated 57km from Inverness and 48km from Fort William. Scottish Citylink and Highland Country Buses provide regular services to and from Fort William and Inverness.

The area surrounding Fort Augustus is both rich in scenery and steeped in history. Loch Ness is by far the largest of the Great Glen Lochs. It is 39 km long and up to 2.4 km wide. With depths of up to 300m it is deeper than the North Sea and contains more fresh water than all the lakes in England and Wales combined.
